Cornea and Refractive Surgery Fellowship trained, Dr. Laura M. Periman finds immense joy in clinical practice, particularly with respect to delivering state of the art care for Ocular Surface Disorders. Her clinical style is warm, friendly and full of common sense analogies she learned as the granddaughter of hard-working Montana cattle ranchers.

​Her passion for understanding the immunopathophysiology and treatment of OSD has its roots in her experiences as a Molecular Biology Research and Development Associate at Immunex Corporation (now Amgen) prior to medical school.
 

 
Andrew McLeod, OD, MSc, FAAO
​Dr. McLeod received his MS/OD from the New England College of Optometry in 2006, followed by a residency in Cornea & Contact Lenses. 
Dr. McLeod is currently an Associate Professor at NECO, within the Department of Specialty and Advanced Care. He also serves as the Program Coordinator for the NECO Cornea & Contact Lens Residency, Chief of the Cornea & Contact Lens Service at the NECO Center for Eye Care, and an Attending Optometrist at Boston University Eye Associates. 
​Dr. McLeod’s clinical and research interests include dry eye disease, treating keratoconus and irregular corneas with specialty contact lenses, myopia control, and technology in education. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, the British Contact Lens Association, and a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry.
 

 
Casey L. Hogan, OD, FAAO, FSLS
​Dr. Hogan earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) in 1997, and went on to pursue a Primary Care & Ocular Disease Residency at ICO, followed by a post-graduate year II anterior segment fellowship under the direction of Dr. Thomas Freddo at the prestigious Boston Medical Center, Boston University.  She served on faculty as Assistant Professor at ICO from 2000-2010, and currently serves as Adjunct Faculty for the ICO Cornea & Contact Lenses residency program, and is a member of the ICO Leadership Circle. Dr. Hogan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a member of the AOF President’s Circle, and is an Anterior Segment Section Diplomate candidate. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. She is a member of numerous professional organizations and is the immediate Past President of Special Olympics Chicago. She is a proud member of the Sjögren’s Syndrome Foundation, the Lupus Foundation of America, and the Scleral Lens Society.
​Dr. Hogan is the founder and President of Advanced Eye Care Professionals, PC, the founder of the Chicago Dry Eye Center of Excellence, and the Chicago Scleral Lens Center of Excellence. Her passion lies in ocular surface disease, specialty contact lens care, building awareness of autoimmune disease, and giving back to the industry and community. She has been recognized as a member of the 2016 PCON 250, and  is the proud recipient of the Cooper Best Practice Award 2015, the 2012 ICO Humanitarian of the Year Award, and her most proud honor to date, the 2016 Anne McGlone Burke Award for her commitment to inclusion and special needs.
 

 
Jennifer S. Harthan, OD, FAAO, FSLS
Dr. Jennifer S. Harthan received her optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry. She completed a residency in cornea and contact lenses at ICO and joined the institution as a full-time faculty member after completion of her residency. Throughout her clinical experience, she has also worked in private practice and hospital-based settings and continues to work in private practice part-time. Dr. Harthan is currently an Associate Professor at the Illinois College of Optometry and is Chief of the Cornea Center for Clinical Excellence at the Illinois Eye Institute. She also helped establish the Dry Eye Center and Cornea Cross-Linking Clinics within the Cornea Center for Clinical Excellence.
​Dr. Harthan is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry. Dr. Harthan is actively involved in lecturing, publishing and participating in research on the topics of ocular surface disease, corneal pathology, and specialty contact lenses for keratoconus, post-surgical corneas, and other corneal diseases. She is also the co-developer of a new scleral lens that was launched January 2016. 
 

 
Nicholas Colatrella, OD, FAAO, Dipl AAO, ABO, ABCMO
​Dr. Nicholas Colatrella is a residency trained optometrist, who is the medical director and owner of PineCone Vision Center.  Dr. Colatrella is board certified by the American Board of Optometry and the American Board of Certification in Medical Optometry.  Dr. Colatrella received his Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, and his Doctor of Optometry with honors from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.  He completed his residency in ocular disease at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio and served as the director of operations at Northeast Ohio Eye Surgeons.  
Dr. Colatrella is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry, past Chair of its disease section and a founding chair of the Anterior Segment Section.  He was also the first of two Diplomates in Anterior Segment Disease of the American Academy of Optometry.  He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Past President of both the Minnesota Optometric Association and the Illinois College of Optometry Alumni Council.  He is an InfantSEE® Provider and has served as an examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry.  He has been published several times and lectures nationally on various topics including LASIK, cataracts, pharmacology, dry eye and corneal diseases.  He is an adjunct professor for several Colleges of Optometry and routinely mentors optometry student externs.  Locally, he has served on the boards for the Sartell Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Sartell’s Economic Development Commission.  Dr. Colatrella has proudly accepted numerous awards and was honored to accept the “Young Optometrist of the Year” award both in Ohio and Minnesota.  He was also acknowledged as one of Best and Brightest “Forty under 40” in the eye care industry by Vision Monday Magazine and humbly accepted the “Sartell Business of the Year” award.  Dr. Colatrella enjoys his children, biking, running, tri /duathlons, fantasy football and home improvement.  
 

 
Stacy Hinkemeyer, OD, FAAO
​Stacy Hinkemeyer, OD, FAAO, Diplomate ABO, ABCMO, is a board certified, residency trained optometrist who is the Clinical Director/CEO of PineCone Vision Center. 
Dr. Hinkemeyer is a local resident of central Minnesota and graduated from Technical High School in St. Cloud. She received her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota at Morris and her Doctor of Optometry with honors from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. She completed her hospital based residency program in ocular disease at the Veterans Administration Medical Centers in Cleveland, Canton, and Brecksville, Ohio. She has served our veterans as the supervising optometrist at the Youngstown and Canton Veterans Clinics, and currently consults at the St. Cloud Veterans Administration Medical Center. Dr. Hinkemeyer is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and serves as adjunct faculty to multiple colleges of optometry including: Illinois College of Optometry, The Ohio State University College of Optometry, Salus University College of Optometry, and The New England College of Optometry. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and Minnesota Optometric Association. She is a board certified diplomate in the American Board of Optometry and Board of Certification in Medical Optometry. She also acts as an examiner for the American Academy of Optometry Fellowship Exam Committee, a senior consultant to the American Council on Optometric Education, a consultant to the Minnesota Department of Education, and serves on the Illinois College of Optometry Alumni Council. Finally, Dr. Hinkemeyer is a board member of Volunteer Optometric Servies to Humanity (VOSH), and Sartell-St. Stephen Education Foundation (SSEF). 
​She has been published and actively lectures on various topics, including neuroeye disease, children’s vision, glaucoma, retinal disease, and dry eye and is part of the Veterans Clinic Research Group. She is passionate about giving back to her community through local outreach, sponsorship, volunteering, and offering eyecare across the world to those in need through VOSH. Dr. Hinkemeyer participates at the Minnesota Special Olympics doing eye exams and school screens. 
 

 
Christen J. Kenrick, OD, FAAO
 
​Dr. Kenrick is currently part of a group practice in Boston, Massachusetts.  In addition to a full-time clinical schedule, she also does research in the area of dry eye and lectures in the areas of specialty contact lenses and ocular surface.

Dr. Kenrick graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry and completed residency training in cornea and contact lenses through the New England College of Optometry.  She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Optometry at the New England College of Optometry.

 

 
Amy Dinardo, OD

Dr. Dinardo graduated with high distinction from the Michigan College of Optometry in 2007. One year later, she completed a residency focusing on corneal diseases and specialty contact lenses. In 2011, she earned a Master of Business Administration with an Advanced Studies Certificate in Management Tools and Concepts.

Dr. Dinardo is an Associate Professor at the Michigan College of Optometry where her roles include patient care, clinical research, and the clinical and didactic training of students, residents, and optometrists. Within the realm of dry eye disease, her interests include the neurobiology of dry eye disease, the pathophysiology of Meibomian gland disease, innovative treatment and management options, and advanced contact lens fitting for patients with dry eye and anterior segment disease. Dr. Dinardo is very active in organized optometry. She is the past-president of the West Michigan Optometric Association (WMOA) and is a Regional Chair for the Admittance Committee of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO).

 

 
Richard Maharaj, OD, FAAO
Dr. Richard Maharaj is the Clinic Director at eyeLABS Optometry and Center for Ocular Surface Disease and Senior Optometrist at York-Finch Ophthalmology, Toronto.  Dr. Maharaj is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and is an  Clinical Adjunct Faculty at the University of Waterloo School of Optometry.  He has a clinical focus on developing new techniques and devices for non-surgical clinical care of the meibomian glands and ocular surface.  He is an international speaker on primary management of eye diseases, a published author on ocular surface disease, current Editor-in-Chief for Clinical & Refractive Optometry Journal, and Chair for the Canadian Association of Optometry's section for ocular surface diseases.
 

 
Amber Gaume Giannoni, OD FAAO
Dr. Gaume Giannoni is a Clinical Professor at UHCO, teaching in the clinic, didactic and laboratory curriculums, and the Director of the Dry Eye Center at the University Eye Institute.  She also serves as a masked investigator in a 3-year, multi-site children’s myopia study (Bifocal Lenses in Nearsighted Kids), has a recurring dry eye column in Contact Lens Spectrum, and is the co-editor and contributing columnist for Ocular Surface News. Dr. Giannoni is a Diplomate of the American Board of Optometry, a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a Board member of the Ocular Surface Society of Optometry.  She serves on the Editorial Board for Advanced Ocular Care. 

Dr. Giannoni has received numerous teaching awards, including the prestigious UH System’s Provost Award for Teaching Excellence and the Women’s Gender Resource Center Distinguished Clinical Faculty Award. Her primary interests include specialty contact lens fitting and the treatment of anterior segment disease with an emphasis on dry eye and Juvenile Arthritis-associated ocular conditions.  
 

 
Anita Ticak, OD, MS, FAAO
Dr. Anita Ticak received her combined O.D./M.S. degrees from Ohio State College of Optometry (OSU) in 2008 and completed a Residency in Cornea and Contact Lens at the University of Houston College of Optometry the following year. Currently, she is a Clinical Associate Professor devoting her time between didactic clinical teaching in the Cornea Contact Lens Service and research in the BLINK STUDY focusing on myopia control for children and VOI Lab creating custom wavefront-guided scleral for the keratoconic population. Dr. Ticak is devoted to serving the community outside UHCO and works in a private practice on the weekends. 

She is the Co-Founder of the Dry Eye Center at the University Eye Institute and an active attending. She is certified in Texas as an Optometric therapeutic and Glaucoma Specialist and is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. Dr. Ticak is an appointed member of the faculty liaison committee to the American Optometric Association. Her primary interests include specialty contact lens fitting and the treatment of anterior segment disease with an emphasis on Ocular Surface and Dry Eye Disease.
 

 
Scott G. Hauswirth, O.D.,
Dr. Hauswirth is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he is coordinating director of the ocular surface center as well as co-director of the collaborative care model within the Department of Ophthalmology. He graduated from the Southern California College of Optometry and completed his residency in Cornea, Glaucoma, and Surgical Management at Minnesota Eye Consultants, one of the most prestigious eye practices in the country. He practiced for seventeen years as a consultative optometrist with Minnesota Eye Consultants, where he led the optometric externship program, participated in numerous research projects, and was instrumental in the development of their dry eye program. He is on the editorial board of four publications, is a frequent lecture on the national and international spectrum, and has authored several publications and texts.
 

 
Jerry Robben, O.D.

Dr. Robben graduated from NOVA Southeastern University College of Optometry in 2009 .  He is currently the Chief Optometrist and Director of Clinical Research at Bowden Eye & Associates in Jacksonville, FL.  Dr. Robben is also an Adjunct Clinical Professor at Midwestern University, College of Optometry in Glendale, AZ. He serves as a founding member and contributor to Dry Eye University (dryeyeuniversity.com) and is a founding member of the Medical Advisory Board and is the current Clinical Director for Dry Eye Access (dryeyeaccess.com).  Dr Robben has served on multiple industry advisory boards, lectures nationally and currently oversees multiple research studies being done in his practice ranging from dry eye, glaucoma, contact lenses and surgical outcomes.

 

 
 
Dr. Lucy Kehinde, BS, OD, PhD

Dr. Lucy Kehinde attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where she earned her BS. in Integrative Biology with a minor in Chemistry in 2005.  She then went on to earn her PhD. in Vision Sciences in 2009 and O.D. Degree in 2013 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Optometry in Birmingham, AL.  Following the professional program, she completed a Primary Care residency with an emphasis in cornea and contact lens in 2014 at Indiana University School of Optometry in Bloomington, IN.

Dr. Kehinde is now a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist in Houston, TX.  After working in private and commercial practice settings, she join the faculty at University of Houston College of Optometry as Assistant Clinical Professor in 2015, where she serves as a laboratory instructor, and attending in Family Practice Service, Dry Eye Center, and Cornea and Contact Lens Service.  She also a co-investigator in various clinical trials in The Ocular Surface Institute at UH.  

 

 
 
Dr. Steven Sorkin, OD, FSLS

Dr. Sorkin serves as the Director of Specialty Contact Lens Services at Corneal Associates of New Jersey in Fairfield, New Jersey. He earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry. He lectures extensively throughout the United States and internationally on contact lenses, dry eyes, ocular therapeutics and corneal diseases. He has a special interest in difficult to fit contact lens patients, such as those with keratoconus and post surgical cases and manages many patients with complex anterior segment conditions. He participates in many contact lens related studies.

Dr. Sorkin currently serves as President of the Essex County Optometric Society and is a  member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey Society of Optometric Physicians.  He is also a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society. He was named New Jersey Optometrist of the Year by NJSOP in 2018.

 

 
 
Dr. Sathi Maiti, OD

Sathi Maiti, OD is an ocular surface disease clinical research fellow at the Periman Eye Institute and primary care optometrist in Seattle, WA. She grew up in eastern Washington state, completed her Bachelor of Science with college honors in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology at the University of Washington in 2009, and graduated from the UC Berkeley School of Optometry in 2014 where she studied endothelial cell traits as a NEI research trainee and taught undergraduate students human anatomy as a head graduate student instructor. She is a sub-investigator of a number of clinical trials related to dry eye and ocular surface disease, her research interests include demodex and cosmetics. She is on the editorial board of Eyes on Eyecare, and a member of the Tear Film and Ocular Surface Society’s 2021 Lifestyle workshop Public Awareness subcommittee. She actively writes and lectures, has been featured in a number of eye care publications, podcasts, and webinars, and was recently named one of Vision Monday’s most influential women in optical for 2021.

She is a member of the Optometric Physicians of Washington’s Diversity, Inclusion, Access task force, enjoys volunteering her optometric skills through local organizations like Public Health Reserve Corp, Uplift Northwest, Seattle/King County Clinic, and VOSH-NW, and mentors local high school students interested in eye care through Project InSight. In her free time she loves to play with her dachshund-mix Kali, draw, crochet, and embroider, and share her love for all things eyeball related on her optometry instagram account, @dr.maitiseyeballsandstuff.
